Happy Halloween, Guelph!

On Saturday, October 31, 2026, our city’s streets will be filled with witches, pirates, dinosaurs and plenty of carved pumpkins. Everyone at Guelph Royal Dental Centre hopes you and your family have a fun and memorable night.

Halloween is about imagination and spending time together, and yes, a fair amount of candy. To help your smile get through the season in good shape, here are a few tips from our team:

  • Timing matters. Have treats with or after a meal rather than snacking throughout the day.
  • Watch the sticky stuff. Gummies, toffee and caramel tend to stick between teeth.
  • Be careful with hard candy. Let it dissolve instead of biting down, which can chip a tooth.
  • Drink water. It helps rinse sugar off your teeth.
  • Brush and floss. Two minutes of brushing and a quick floss before bed make a big difference.

For families, try sorting the candy together and setting a daily limit. Some households keep a few favourites and donate or trade the rest.

When you head out, please stay safe: carry a flashlight, choose costumes that let kids see clearly, and check treats before eating.

If you have a dental concern over the holiday weekend, call us at 519-837-1870.

Wishing you a spooky and safe Halloween!
